7 Years Confinement for Kurdish Citizen from Piranshahr

Hengaw: A Kurdish citizen from Piranshahr who had been arrested in the spring of 2018 was sentenced to confinement.

Kamal Abdolahi from piranshahr was sentenced to 7 years of nonsuspended confinement by Urmia's first branch Revolutionary Court, according to the report of Hengaw Organisation for Human Rights.

The verdict was delivered to Kamal Abdolahi on Sunday, 20 January in Urmia's prison. His charges are spying for the USA and cooperating with Kurdish opposition parties of Iran.

Kamal Abdolahi was arrested on 15 May 2018 by Iran's security agencies and had been jaild for 3 months in Urmia's Intelligence office lockup which was later transferred to the central prison of the city. He is now being kept in ward (4-3) of Urmia's central prison.

Yet, on the same day, Urmia's Revolutionary Court had sentenced another Kurdish citizen from Piranshahr, Mohammad Petayshi, to 7 years of confinement.
