Death sentence of two prisoners executed in Ardakan Prison, Yazd

Approximately two weeks ago, the death sentences of two Kurdish prisoners from Kermanshah (Kirmnshan), named Siavash Yari and Mohammad Ali Darkeh, were carried out in Ardakan Central Prison in Yazd Province. They had previously been sentenced to death for drug-related charges.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Thursday, November 28, 2024, Mohammad Ali Darkeh, a 54-year-old from Mahidasht, Kermanshah, and Siavash Yari, a 67-year-old from Kermanshah, were executed in Ardakan Prison, Yazd.

Hengaw sources reported that these two prisoners were arrested in Ardakan in September 2024. In a joint case, they were sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran on charges related to drug trafficking (specifically morphine possession).

To date, the news of the execution of these two individuals has not been announced by state media, particularly those affiliated with the judiciary.
