Molavi Fathi Mohammad Naqshbandi sentenced to 5 years in prison

Molavi Fathi Mohammad Naqshbandi, the Friday prayer leader of Rask and a prominent Sunni Baloch scholar, has been sentenced to five years in prison by the judiciary, of Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Monday, November 25, 2024, Molavi Fathi Mohammad Naqshbandi was sentenced to five years of imprisonment by the Special Clergy Court in Mashhad. This sentence has been upheld by the Supreme Court and officially communicated to him.
As reported by the Baloch Activists Campaign, Molavi Fathi Mohammad Naqshbandi, was arrested by security forces on August 20, 2023, while traveling between Rask and Chabahar. His arrest was reportedly due to his critical stance against the policies of the Islamic Republic.
Despite his advanced age and deteriorating health, Molavi Fathi Mohammad Naqshbandi has been held in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad for over a year without release.
