Death sentence of a prisoner carried out in Lakan Prison, Rasht

The death sentence of a Kurdish prisoner named Shir Ali Tarkeshband, originally from Sahneh County, who had previously been arrested on charges related to drug offenses and sentenced to death, was carried out in Lakan Prison, Rasht.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in the early hours of Wednesday, November 20, 2024,  Shir Ali Tarkeshband, a 53-year-old resident of "Siyacheqa" village in Sahneh and a current resident of Malard in Tehran Province, was hanged in Lakan Prison, Rasht.

This prisoner had been arrested and sentenced to death on charges related to drug offenses.
