Prisoner executed in Sabzevar Prison

The death sentence of Alireza Mehrabadi, a 25-year-old prisoner from Sabzevar convicted of premeditated murder, was carried out in Sabzevar Central Prison, located in Razavi Khorasan Province.

According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution took place at dawn on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
Alireza Mehrabadi had been imprisoned for seven years following his conviction for a murder that occurred during a dispute.

A second prisoner involved in the same case, identified as 24-year-old Ali Rabati, also from Sabzevar, was spared execution on the same day after the victim’s family granted clemency.

As of this report, the execution of Alireza Mehrabadi has not been officially announced by state-run media or judicial authorities.
