Hengaw: Tuesday, November 22, 2022
During the recent protests in the cities of Kurdistan over the past week, following the call for general strikes and protests to commemorate the November 2019 protests, at least 42 Kurdish citizens were killed by direct fire from the Iranian government forces, and more than 1,500 others were injured.
Based on the statistics registered in the Statistics and Documents Center of the Hengaw Human Rights Organization, from Tuesday, November 15, to Monday, November 21, at least 42 Kurdish citizens have been killed by Iranian government forces in the cities of Kurdistan.
According to the available documents, 40 cases, or 95% of these cases, were killed by direct fire from the government forces, which were mainly targeted in the head and chest area. Also, one citizen died under torture following his arrest, and another citizen died due to severe stab wounds.
These 42 citizens were killed in 9 cities as follows:
Bukan: 12 cases
Javanroud: 7 cases
Sanandaj: 7 cases
Mahabad: 4 cases
Piranshahr: 4 cases
Kamyaran: 2 cases
Saqqez: 2 cases
Diwandarreh: 2 cases
Dehgolan: 1 case
Baneh: 1 case
It is worth mentioning that Hengaw will clarify reports of the killing of some other citizens after the research team does the further investigation.
While condemning the excessive violence of the Iranian government forces against the Kurdish citizens, Hengaw believes that there is definite evidence regarding "genocide" in the last 48 hours in the cities of Kurdistan, with an emphasis on Javanroud. The military attack on the cities of Kurdistan is organized, widespread, and programmed for the specific purpose of killing the Kurds.
