The death sentences of Mohammad Mehdi Karami and Seyed Mohammad Hosseini were carried out

Two of the arrested protesters, Mohammad Mehdi Karami, 22, a Kurdish citizen from Bijar, and Seyed Mohammad Hosseini, 39, were executed before their last visit with their families.

The Media Center of the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced that at dawn on Saturday, January 7, 2023, the death sentences of Mohammad Mehdi Karami and Seyed Mohammad Hosseini were executed. The location of these two citizens' executions is not mentioned in the news.

It should be noted that in the cases of these two prisoners, they have not met the minimum standards of a fair trial, even based on domestic standards, and in addition to being deprived of the right to access a certain lawyer, they have also been deprived of the right to visit their families for the last time.

Mohammad Mehdi Karami and Seyed Mohammad Hosseini were charged with "Moharebah" (War against God) and "corruption on earth through crimes against internal security" by the first branch of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court of Alborz province, headed by Judge Musa Asif Al-Hosni, and sentenced to death.

The hearing of the accusations against these two citizens, along with 13 other citizens, as defendants in the case of the killing of a Basiji named Ruhollah Ajamian was held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, in which Mohammad Mehdi Karami was the first defendant and Seyed Mohammad Hosseini was introduced as the accused in the second row of the case.

It should be mentioned that Mohammad Mehdi Karami was abducted by the Iranian government forces on Saturday, November 5, 2022, two days after the 40th day death anniversary of Hadis Najafi.

Earlier, one of Karmi's close relatives told Hengaw: "Mohammad Mehdi was subjected to severe physical and mental torture during his detention, and many times, they threatened to rape him by touching his genitals." According to this source, Mohammad confirmed the information during a meeting with his family.

 Mohammad Mehdi Karami, 22 years old, was a native of Kotan Sofla village, Bijar city, and a resident of Nazarabad city.

Seyed Mohammad Hosseini was 39 years old and a worker. According to the little information about him, Seyyed Mohammad lost his parents when he was a child.
