The death sentence of Hossein Soltani Aliabadi, a Kurdish citizen from Bukan who had previously been sentenced to death for drug-related charges, was carried out in Urmia prison.

According to the report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Friday, March 17, 2023, the death sentence of Hossein Soltani Aliabadi, a 51-year-old Kurdish citizen from Bukan, was carried out in Urmia Central Prison.

According to an informed source, the prisoner was arrested ten years ago on drug-related charges and was sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary. He was transferred from Bukan prison to Urmia prison two months ago.

At the same time, the death sentences of at least four prisoners from Urmia, named Forohar Abbasnejad, Mohammad Ayoubian, Jahanbakhsh Radloui, and Yasin Rashidi, who were previously sentenced to death for drug-related charges, were carried out in Urmia Central Prison.

In another case, the death sentence of Muhyaddin Ebrahimi, a 43-year-old political prisoner from the village of "Alkawi" in Oshnaviyeh, was executed in the central prison of Urmia.

In this way, the total number of Kurdish prisoners who were executed on different charges at dawn on Friday in Urmia Central Prison reached six people.
