The death sentences of two inmates in the Central Prison of Torbat-e Jam, Razavi Khorasan province, were carried out. The identity of one of these two inmates, Haidar Chishti, has been verified by Hengaw. These two inmates were sentenced to death on charges of drug-related crimes.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Sunday, June 11, 2023, the death sentences of Haidar Chishti, 34 years old, and another prisoner whose identity remains unknown, both from Torbat-e Jam, were executed in the Central Prison of this city.
These two inmates were arrested three years ago and, on charges of drug-related crimes, sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
At the time of this reporting, the government-associated media outlets, particularly those affiliated with the judiciary, had not announced the execution of these two inmates.
