Hengaw – Monday, August 4, 2025

Mohammad Darvish Narouei, 22, and Yasin Kebdani, 21, two Baloch men arrested during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement, have been sentenced to death by the Zahedan Revolutionary Court. Alongside them, Benyamin Kouhkan, a political detainee who was only 16 at the time of his arrest, has also been tried and transferred to quarantine, with his verdict still under review.

According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the two young men were sentenced on June 16, 2025, on charges of moharebeh (Waging war against the state) and efsad fel-arz (corruption on earth). Both face imminent execution if the sentences are upheld.

Benyamin Kouhkan, who was a minor at the time of his detention, has been placed in solitary confinement in the prison’s quarantine section. He has not been allowed any phone calls with his family, and no official information about his sentence has been released.

Sources confirm that all three detainees were subjected to severe physical and psychological torture during interrogation and were denied basic legal rights, including access to legal counsel.

Mohammad Darvish Narouei, Yasin Kebdani, and Benyamin Kouhkan were arrested on January 6, 2023, during the nationwide protests linked to the Women, Life, Freedom movement. After months of intense interrogations under torture, they were forced to confess and subsequently transferred to prison.
