Azam Gholami Zahab, one of the detainees of the 'Jin, Jiyan, Azadi' movement, after eleven months of detention and indecision accompanied by physical and mental torture, was sentenced to a total of 16 years and four months in prison by the Islamic Republic of Iran's judicial system. He is currently being held in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad.
 
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the 35-year-old Azam Gholami Zahab from Mashhad was sentenced by the 5th branch of the Revolutionary Court of the city, which was headed by judge Hossein Yazdankhah. The charges against him included "gathering and collusion against security", "propaganda activity against the government" and "connection with the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran". He was sentenced to a total of sixteen years and four months in prison.
 
According to the Consolidation Law, 10 years as a highest punishment of imprisonment would be applicable for Azam Gholami Zahab.
 
In his recent 11 months of detention, Azam Gholami Zahab was denied the right to have access to any appointment with a lawyer, visits, and other basic rights. During this period in custody, he was repeatedly tortured by the security forces to obtain a forced confession.
 

Azam Gholami Zahab was arrested in October 2023, by the Mashhad Intelligence Department at his residence in Qasimabad, Mashhad, and after two months, he was transferred to Vakilabad Prison.
