Mohsen Mazloum, Mohammad (Hejir) Faramarzi, Wafa Azarbar and Pejman Fatehi, four Kurdish political prisoners, have been sentenced to death by Tehran’s Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court and their case was upheld by the ninth branch of the Supreme Court. Considering the current situation and while these prisoners have been accused of collaborating with Israel, their lives are in danger of governmental and non-judicial political decisions.

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, 27-year-old Mohsen Mazloum from Mahabad, 28-year-old Mohammad Faramarzi from Dehgolan, 26-year-old Wafa Azarbar from Bukan, and 28-year-old Pejman Fatehi from Kamiyaran were sentenced to death by Branch 26 of Tehran’s Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court headed by Judge Iman Afshari. The executions have been confirmed. This verdict has been confirmed by the 9th branch of the Supreme Court headed by Judge Qasim Mazinani in absolute silence.

According to sources close to the families of these four prisoners, their families have no information about their fate and whereabouts since their arrest and have not had any face-to-face meetings or phone calls with their loved ones. Also, their lawyer has not managed to study the case so far.

While warning about the serious and imminent danger of the execution of these prisoners, Hengaw emphasizes that Mohsen Mazloum, Mohammad (Hejir) Faramarzi, Wafa Azarbar, and Pejman Fatehi, were kept in security institutions and subjected to all kinds of physical and mental tortures without access to the minimum rights of political defendants, during the past one year and five months and fifteen days.

Also, Hengaw warns once again that currently, the Iranian security institutions are trying to carry out the death sentences of these four Kurdish political prisoners with greater speed. Considering the government's need for political propaganda in the wake of rising tensions with Israel, this action seems completely predictable.

In this connection, in August 2022, the Iranian state media published a report claiming that these four Kurdish political prisoners who are members of the Kurdistan Komaleh party of Iran were arrested "armed while trying to carry out an explosion in Isfahan's industrial facilities".

Kurdistan's Komaleh Party of Iran subsequently issued an official statement calling the claims of the Islamic Republic of Iran's government baseless and emphasizing that "such a scenario has been proposed to suppress more people and protesters".

The Iranian state TV channel has broadcast the forced confession of Mohsen Mazloum, Mohammad (Hajir) Faramarezi, Wafa Azarbar, and Pejman Fatehi at least twice. Such actions were unprecedented in the procedure of the security institutions of the Islamic Republic and are mainly carried out to implement the scenario of the security agents to frame a case.

The families of these four prisoners have also been under pressure from the Iranian government institutions, in the last case, the Iranian Intelligence interrogated and tortured the mother of Pejman Fatehi, Afshana Yousefi, for several hours and threatened her with the summons and arrest of other members of their family.

It is worth mentioning that these four members of the Kurdistan Komaleh party of Iran were arrested on July 23, 2022, in the "Yengejeh" village of Soma Bradost region, Urmia.
