The Number of Executed Inmates in Ilam Prison Rises by Two Cases

With the confirmation of Mansour Mansouri's identity, the count of executed Kurdish prisoners in Ilam Central Prison has gone up by two. Earlier, Hengaw had reported the execution of Moein Salahwarzi after 23 years of incarceration.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on Monday, March 11, 2024, the executions of 58-year-old Moein Salahwarzi from Abdanan and Mansour Mansouri from Sarableh were carried out in Ilam Central Prison.
These prisoners had previously received death sentences for homicide. They were moved to solitary confinement yesterday in preparation for the execution.
Salahwarzi was arrested in 1991, 32 years ago, for killing his brother and had been serving his time in Ilam and Darreh Shahr prisons.
As per the Statistics and Documents Center of the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in 2023, at least 151 Kurdish prisoners were executed in Iranian prisons.
