Implementation of a Death Sentence for Prisoners in Saqqez, Kurdistan

The execution of Farzad Khademi, a Kurdish individual convicted of homicide, has been carried out at Saqqez Central Prison.

According to a report obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Farzad Khademi, a prisoner from Saqqez, Kurdistan (Sanandaj) Province, was executed at the central prison of the city on April 25, 2024.

Khadem was transferred to solitary confinement on Tuesday in anticipation of his sentence.

He was arrested in May 2020 on charges of murdering his friend, Tirdad Atash-Afroozi, using a firearm, and was sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
