Covert Execution of Afghan National in Iranian Prisons

The death sentence of an Afghan prisoner identified as Khan Mohammad Es’haq-Zehi, who had previously been sentenced to death for drug-related crimes, was secretly carried out in Semnan Central Prison.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, Khan Mohammad Es’haq-Zehi, an Afghanistani prisoner from Farah Province, Lash Wa Juwayn District, was executed in Semnan Central Prison.
Hengaw learned that the execution of the 40-year-old prisoner was implemented secretly without the knowledge of his family.
Khan Mohammad Es’haq-Zehi was arrested four years ago and sentenced to death by the Semnan Revolutionary Court on drug-related charges.
The news of the execution of this prisoner had not been announced by the government media, especially the media close to the judiciary, until the time of writing this report.
