A Report on Maryam Bayramian, a Political Prisoner Held in Tabriz Central Prison

Maryam Bayramian, a Turkish individual residing in Tabriz and currently imprisoned in the city's central prison, has been sentenced to two years in prison by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in recent days, Maryam Bayramian, 45 years old and residing in Tabriz, was sentenced to two years of imprisonment by the Tabriz Revolutionary Court on charges of "insulting officials and acting against national security."

Bayramian was arrested by security forces on June 8, 2023, during a speech by former President Ebrahim Raisi in Tabriz, due to her protest against his speech.

Maryam Bayramian has spent more than a year in Tabriz Central Prison since her transfer there, and her arrest had not been reported by the media until now.
