Execution of Two Prisoners in Gorgan Central Prison

The death sentences of two prisoners from Nazarabad, Karaj, named Hatem Shahidi and Mostafa Hosseini, who were previously sentenced to death for drug-related offenses, were carried out in Gorgan Central Prison, located in Golestan Province.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Human Rights Organization, at dawn on Sunday, July 7, 2024, the death sentences of two prisoners from Nazarabad, Karaj, named Mostafa Hosseini, 41, and Hatem Shahidi, 38, who were previously sentenced to death for drug-related offenses in a joint case, were carried out in Gorgan Central Prison.

According to the Iran Human Rights Organization, these two prisoners were arrested and sentenced to death three years ago in a joint case for drug-related offenses.

As of the time of this report, the news of the execution of these two prisoners has not been announced in government media or media close to the judiciary.
