Death Sentence of Two Prisoners Executed in Bandar Abbas Central Prison

The death sentences of two prisoners, Abdullah Lashtghoni and Hamed Mozafari, who were previously sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran on charges related to drugs and homicide, were carried out in Bandar Abbas Central Prison.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the morning of August 13, 2024, the executions of Abdullah Lashtghoni from Bandar Khamir and Hamed Mozafari from Bandar Lengeh were carried out in Bandar Abbas Central Prison.

Informed sources indicate that these two prisoners, along with another prisoner sentenced to death for premeditated murder, were moved to solitary confinement on July 12 in preparation for the execution. However, the third prisoner was eventually returned to the general ward of the prison.

It should be noted that Abdullah Lashtghoni had been arrested on drug-related charges, while Hamed Mozafari had been convicted of murder, both receiving death sentences.

As of the time of this report, the executions of these two prisoners have not been officially announced by government media, including outlets associated with the judiciary.
