Death sentence of prisoner carried out in Nurabad prison

The death sentence of Abdul Nazari, a 46-year-old prisoner, was carried out in the central prison of Nurabad, Lorestan Province. He was previously convicted of “premeditated murder” by the judiciary of Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Nazari was executed at dawn on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, in Nurabad prison.
Reports from the Iran Human Rights Organization state that Nazari was arrested five years ago on charges of killing his uncle during a large-scale dispute over farmland, leading to a sentence of retribution. Although the main perpetrator in this incident was not conclusively identified, Nazari received the death sentence.
As of this report, official Iranian media, including outlets associated with the judiciary, have not announced the execution. Abdul Nazari was a father of four children.
