Execution Toll at Shiraz Central Prison Rises to Three

With the identification of two additional prisoners, Abbas Khodayari and Seyed Naser Hosseini, the number of executions at Shiraz Central Prison on Wednesday has risen to three. Hengaw previously reported the execution of another prisoner, Mohammad Chaman Pira.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the morning of Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Abbas Khodayari and Seyed Naser Hosseini, both sentenced to death on drug-related charges, were executed at Shiraz Central Prison (Adelabad).

Informed sources revealed that Khodayari and Hosseini were arrested three years ago in a joint drug-related case and were subsequently sentenced to death by the Iranian Judiciary.

Earlier, Hengaw reported that the death sentence of Bakhtiari Lur prisoner Mohammad Chaman Pira, a Shiraz resident convicted of “rape and premeditated murder,” had also been carried out at Shiraz Central Prison.

To date, Iranian state media, particularly those affiliated with the judiciary, have not reported the execution of these prisoners.
