Death sentence of seven prisoners, including a woman, carried out in Iran

The death sentences of seven Turkish prisoners, including a woman, were carried out in Tabriz Central Prison. These prisoners had been convicted of “premeditated murder” and “drug-related crimes” by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Since the beginning of 2024, 76 Turkish prisoners, including seven women, have been executed across various prisons in Iran.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Sunday morning, October 20, 2024, four prisoners, Nasrin Firoozi, Mohammad (surname unknown), Siamak Molaei (45), and Hassan Yousefi, were executed in Tabriz Central Prison.
Simultaneously, the execution of Mohammad Amin Noorafkan, who was convicted of drug-related crimes two years ago, was also carried out in the same prison.
Nasrin Firoozi and Mohammad were convicted two years ago for the murder of Firoozi’s husband, while Siamak Molaei and Hassan Yousefi were sentenced to death four years ago in a joint case for murder.
Additionally, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, two more prisoners from Tabriz, Javad Ebrahimi (35) and Behzad Ghaffari (40), who had been arrested three years ago for drug-related offenses, were also executed.
The executions of Nasrin Firoozi and Mohammad were reported on the government-affiliated website Rokna, while the executions of the other five prisoners had not been publicly announced at the time of this report.
According to data compiled by Hengaw, at least 76 Turkish prisoners, including seven women, have been executed in the prisons of Iran since the beginning of 2024.
