Death sentence of seven prisoners, including three Afghan Nationals, carried out in Karaj

The death sentences of seven prisoners, including two Kurdish men and three Afghan nationals, were carried out in Ghezel Hesar Prison, Karaj. The prisoners, identified as Jalil Eghbalinezhad, Faramarz Entesari, Mostafa Sarlak, Mohammad Hosseinbayat, Ajmal Azizi, Mohammad Tajik, and Sadeq (last name unknown), were convicted on charges of premeditated murder, drug offenses and rape.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions took place at dawn on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. Among those executed were two Kurdish prisoners from Harsin, Kermanshah Province—Jalil Eghbalinezhad and Faramarz Entesari—who had been arrested seven and five years ago, respectively, on drug-related charges.
Additionally, Mostafa Sarlak from Lorestan, Mohammad Hossein Bayat from Tehran, and Afghan national Ajmal Azizi, all convicted of premeditated murder in separate cases, were executed.
Two further Afghan nationals, Mohammad Tajik and Sadeq (last name unknown), previously convicted of rape, were also executed.
As of this report, the executions have not been publicly disclosed by state media or judiciary-affiliated outlets.
