Executions in Kermanshah Central Prison rises to four

Farman Afristam, a Kurdish prisoner from Kermanshah who had been sentenced to death on charges of “premeditated murder,” was executed in Kermanshah (Kirmaşan) Central Prison (Dizelabad). This brings the total number of executions in the prison on the same day to four.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Farman Afristam was executed at dawn on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, in Dizelabad Prison.

He had been arrested four years ago on charges of murder and was subsequently sentenced to death by judiciary of Islamic Republic of Iran.

Hengaw previously reported the execution of three other Kurdish prisoners in Dizelabad Prison on the same day. They included Mozafar Shahsavari, 45, and Mohammad Shahidi, 37, both from Kermanshah, as well as Ashkan Kazemi, a resident of the Gavar District in Gilan-e Gharb County, Kermanshah Province, and a member of the Iranian Army. These individuals had also been convicted of premeditated murder in separate cases.

As of this report, the executions of these four prisoners have not been officially announced by state-controlled media or judiciary-affiliated outlets.
