Prisoner executed in Arak Central Prison

The death sentence of a Kurdish prisoner identified as Abbas Mohammadi, has been carried out in Arak Central Prison. He had been convicted of drug-related charges by the judiciary of Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the morning of Sunday, January 19, 2025, Abbas Mohammadi, a 49-year-old from Kangavar, was executed in Arak Central Prison.

Sources reveal that the prisoner was arrested in 2020 on charges related to drug offenses and later sentenced to death by the judiciary.

As of the time of the report, the execution of Abbas Mohammadi has not been announced in state-run media, including outlets affiliated with Iran’s judiciary.
