Christian convert arrested by security forces in Babol

Christian convert, Somaieh Rajabi, was arrested 12 days ago by IRGC intelligence forces in the city of Gatab, a district of Babol in Mazandaran province. She has been transferred to a detention center in Sari.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Thursday, February 6, 2025, IRGC intelligence forces raided a gathering of Christians in a garden in Gatab, arresting Somaieh Rajabi.

As reported by "Mohabat News," more than 20 IRGC intelligence agents stormed the gathering of approximately 80 Christians from the cities of Gorgan and Babol, confiscating Bibles, musical instruments, and communication devices. They also forced attendees to provide personal information and phone passwords. After conducting body searches, the agents violently confronted individuals wearing cross necklaces, tearing them off, and preventing medical assistance for those injured.

It is noteworthy that one day after her arrest, Somaieh Rajabi informed her family in a brief phone call that she had been transferred to a prison in Sari.

As of the time of this report, there is no precise information regarding the reasons for her arrest or the charges against her.
