Uncertainty surrounding Christian convert Ghazal Marzban Jorshari's case in Evin Prison

Ghazal Marzban Jorshari, a Christian convert and resident of Tehran, has been arrested by Iran’s Security Police and remains in custody without clear legal proceedings. She sustained serious injuries during her arrest.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ghazal Marzban Jorshari, aged 41, was arrested on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, by the Security Police in Tehran.
A credible source revealed that she was transferred to the women’s ward of Evin Prison nearly two weeks after her arrest and continues to be held in an uncertain legal status.
The source added that Marzban Jorshari, a law graduate, is facing charges of “propaganda against the government” and “removal of the hijab,” which have been brought against her by Judge Iman Afshari of the Tehran Revolutionary Court.
It is worth noting that during her violent arrest by the Security Police, Marzban Jorshari suffered severe injuries to her ribs due to physical assaults.
