Prisoner executed in Qorveh Central Prison

The death sentence of Naeem Abdi, a Kurdish prisoner from Qorveh, previously sentenced to death on charges of premeditated murder, was carried out in the central prison of Qorveh, located in Kurdistan (Sanandaj) Province.
According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Sunday, February 23, 2025, Naeem Abdi, a 22-year-old prisoner from Qorveh, was executed in the city’s central prison.
A source close to Abdi’s family stated that Naeem Abdi had been arrested two years ago for the murder of another man named Behzad Moazemi, and was subsequently sentenced to death by the judicial system of Islamic Republic of Iran.
As of the time of this report, state-affiliated media, particularly those linked to the judiciary, have not announced the execution of this prisoner.
