Hengaw’s report on the execution of Nasrin Barani in Isfahan Central Prison

The death sentence of a female prisoner, identified as Nasrin Barani from Isfahan, has been carried out in Isfahan Central Prison (Dastgerd). She had previously been sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the charge of “premeditated murder.” 

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Saturday, March 1, 2025, 29-year-old Nasrin Barani was executed in Isfahan Central Prison.

She had been arrested four years ago on charges of murdering her former husband and was subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary.

According to informed sources, Nasrin Barani divorced her first husband after six years of marriage and later remarried. She was accused of murder following harassment by her former spouse.

To date, the news of her execution has not been announced in state media, particularly those close to the judiciary.
