According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Friday, March 21, 2025, 31-year-old Tahsin Dadras, a resident of the village of Sardosh, near Marivan, was arrested at his workplace by security forces without the presentation of an arrest warrant and was taken to an unknown location.
Sources close to the matter stated that the arrest is in connection with Newroz events held in Kurdistan.
Tahsin Dadras had previously been arrested on November 30, 2017 by Iranian security forces and was held for five months in solitary confinement in the detention centers of the Intelligence Agency in Marivan and Sanandaj, followed by four months in the general wards of Sanandaj and Marivan prisons.
He was eventually sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of Marivan to 11 years in prison on charges of “membership in the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan.” This sentence was later reduced to six years by the appeals court. On June 3, 2021, after serving more than half of his sentence, he was released from Mariwan Central Prison under a judiciary amnesty.
