Two prisoners, including Afghan national, executed in Shiraz’s Adelabad Prison

The death sentences of Soud Mirzaei, an Afghan national, and Vahid Ashouri, a prisoner from Yazd, were carried out in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz. Both had been convicted of premeditated murder in separate cases.

According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions took place at dawn on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. Vahid Ashouri, aged 30 and a resident of Yazd, and Soud Mirzaei, from Afghanistan, were hanged inside Shiraz Central Prison (Adelabad).

Sources familiar with the cases confirmed that Ashouri had been imprisoned for four years and Mirzaei for three years before their executions. Both were sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary on murder charges.

As of the time of this report, state media and judiciary-affiliated outlets have not published any information regarding these executions.
