Rasht: Javid Mohammadi, former detainee of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” Movement, re-arrested by security forces

Javid Mohammadi, a Gilak martial arts instructor, was forcibly re-arrested by Iranian security forces in Rasht. He had previously been detained during the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” (Woman, Life, Freedom) movement.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Saturday, May 3, 2025, 29-year-old Javid Mohammadi was arrested during a violent raid by security forces at his private residence in Rasht.
Sources familiar with the incident stated that the arrest was carried out by three armed agents under the command of a man identified as Mohammad Reza Sahraei. During the raid, Mohammadi’s father, mother, and brother were beaten by the officers.
The security agents threatened to kill members of Mohammadi’s family if news of his arrest was made public.
As of the time of this report, there is no confirmed information about the reasons for his arrest, his place of detention, or the charges he may be facing.
Javid Mohammadi was previously arrested by security forces during the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” movement in the fall of 2022 and was later released.
