Five Gilak athletes from Masal in Gilan Province have been arrested by Iranian government forces.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the arrests took place on Friday, February 13, 2026. The detainees are Milad Shahbazi, Saman Nourmohammadi, Mojtaba Yazdani, Majid Habibzadeh, and Behnam Zafari, all boxers from Masal.

Informed sources stated that government forces raided their homes in groups, intimidated family members, and searched their personal belongings.

Authorities have not disclosed their whereabouts, the reasons for their arrest, or any charges against them.
