Three prisoners hanged in Bandar Abbas, Arak, and Shiraz Prisons

Three prisoners, identified as Manouchehr Golabi, Mehdi Khani, and Mohsen Raeisi, were executed in separate cases in Bandar Abbas, Arak, and Shiraz prisons. They had been convicted of drug-related charges, rape, and premeditated murder.

According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, the death sentence of Mehdi Khani, 21, was carried out in Arak Prison on charges of rape. An informed source stated that  Khani fled home with his female cousin two years ago. Upon their return, he was arrested and subsequently sentenced to death on charges of rape.

At the same time, Manouchehr Golabi, a 50-year-old Baloch prisoner from Minab, was executed in Bandar Abbas Central Prison. He had been arrested seven years ago for drug-related charges and sentenced to death.

Separately, on Sunday, May 4, 2025, Mohsen Raeisi, a prisoner from Shiraz, was executed in Adelabad Prison, after being convicted of premeditated murder by a criminal court.

To date, none of these executions have been reported by state media or those affiliated with the judiciary.
