Hengaw – Thursday, July 30, 2026

Three prisoners, including a Baloch man, were executed in separate cases at Qezel Hesar Prison in Karaj and Taybad Central Prison. They had previously been sentenced to death on charges of "premeditated murder" and drug-related offenses.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Nader Abil, a 40-year-old Baloch man from Mashhad, was executed at dawn on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, in Taybad Central Prison.

Informed sources told Hengaw that Abil was arrested several years ago in connection with a drug-related case. After his co-defendants were executed, he was acquitted of all charges and released. However, around a year ago, military forces raided his home, rearrested him in connection with the same case, and he was subsequently sentenced to death. He had been transferred from Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad to Taybad Central Prison on Sunday, July 26, for the implementation of his death sentence.

The executions of Ahmad Tabatabaei Zavareh, a 35-year-old married man from Varamin and father of a six-year-old child, and Hassan Khalili, a married father of two, were also carried out on Wednesday at Qezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.

Tabatabaei Zavareh had been imprisoned for three years, while Khalili had been imprisoned for several years in separate cases on charges of "premeditated murder" before they were sentenced to death.

The executions have not been announced by Iranian state media or the judiciary.
