Iran secretly executes at least five prisoners, including three Afghan nationals, at Taybad Prison

Iranian authorities secretly executed at least five prisoners, including three Afghan nationals and one Baloch prisoner, at Taybad Central Prison in Razavi Khorasan province.

According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions were carried out at dawn on July 29, 2026. The three Afghan nationals were identified as Mullah Rabie Abdulmohammadi, 56, from Sheberghan; Sakhi Abdulmohammadi, 24, Rabie’s nephew, also from Sheberghan; and Qaed Nasiri, 27, from Kunduz.

The authorities also executed Mozaffar Minapour, a 37-year-old prisoner from Taybad, and Nader Abil, a 40-year-old Baloch prisoner.

Sources familiar with the case said Mullah Rabie Abdulmohammadi and Sakhi Abdulmohammadi had been arrested two years ago in a joint drug-related case. Qaed Nasiri had been imprisoned for four years, Nader Abil for five years, and Mozaffar Minapour for three years before all five were sentenced to death on drug-related charges by the Iranian judiciary.

Iranian state media and judicial authorities have not publicly announced the executions.
