Execution of Kurdish Prisoner Moshir Osmandzadeh Carried Out in Urmia Central Prison

The death sentence of Moshir Osmandzadeh, a Kurdish prisoner from Urmia, was carried out in Urmia Central Prison. Osmandzadeh had previously been convicted of premeditated murder by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
 
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution took place in the early hours of Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
 
Osmandzadeh had been arrested four years ago on charges of first-degree murder and subsequently sentenced to death. On Monday, May 12, he was transferred from Ward 4 of Urmia Central Prison to solitary confinement in preparation for the execution.
 
Iranian state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary, have not reported on the execution.
