Execution of Goran Qaderi carried out at Sanandaj Central Prison

Hengaw – Tuesday, May 20, 2025
The death sentence of Goran Qaderi, a Kurdish resident of Marivan, was carried out at Sanandaj Central Prison following his conviction for premeditated murder in connection with the case of Shiler Rasouli.
According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Qaderi was executed in the early hours of Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Sanandaj Central Prison.
Qaderi was arrested in September 2022 and subsequently sentenced to death for his involvement in the widely publicized case concerning Shiler Rasouli.
Shiler Rasouli, 36, had visited Qaderi’s residence on Saturday, September 3, 2022, after he requested assistance, citing his wife’s illness. Upon discovering that Qaderi’s wife was not present and that Qaderi intended to rap her, Rasouli attempted to escape by jumping from a window, sustaining critical injuries that led to a coma.
She died six days later while being treated in a hospital in Sanandaj (Sine). Her death provoked widespread protests, particularly among women’s rights activists in Marivan.
