The death sentences of Shokrollah, an Afghan national, and another prisoner previously convicted in separate cases of rape and premeditated murder, were carried out in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj. These executions bring the total number of prisoners executed at the facility on Monday to five. Hengaw had earlier reported the execution of three other detainees same day, including two Kurdish prisoners.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions took place at dawn on Monday, June 2, 2025. Shokrollah, 30, was an Afghan national who had been arrested 11 years earlier at the age of 19 on charges of rape and the murder of a young girl. He was later sentenced to death by Branch 113 of the Tehran Criminal Court.

The second person, identified by Javan Newspaper as Behzad, had been convicted of the premeditated murder of the husband of a woman with whom he was romantically involved. He was arrested five years ago and subsequently sentenced to death.

Hengaw previously reported that three other prisoners were executed on the same day in the same prison. Among them were two Kurdish prisoners from Kuhdasht: Alireza Shahbazi, 45, a father of two, and Ali Karami Nasr, as well as Ali Abbasi, a resident of Afsarieh in Tehran.

Ali Abbasi had been sentenced to death four years earlier on charges of premeditated murder. Alireza Shahbazi and Ali Karami Nasr were convicted of drug-related offenses and sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
