Kurdish prisoner Mehdi Heydari executed t in Hamedan Central Prison

The death sentence of Mehdi Heydari Tarkashvand, a Kurdish prisoner previously convicted on drug-related charges, was carried out at Hamedan Central Prison in western Iran.

According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution took place at dawn on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Heydari, 35, was from Kangavar, a city in Kermanshah Province (Kermashan).

Sources familiar with the case stated that Heydari had been arrested on charges related to narcotics and later sentenced to death by Iran’s judiciary.

State media and outlets affiliated with the judiciary have not published any official announcement regarding his execution.
