Four prisoners executed in Ghezel Hesar prison, including two Kurds and an Afghan national

Authorities executed at least four prisoners in Ghezel Hesar Prison, Karaj, Alborz Province. Those executed were identified as Fereydoun Mohammadi, Hossein Biabani, Hesam Mohammadi, and Ahmad Yousefi, an Afghan national. Two of the prisoners, Mohammadi and Biabani, were Kurdish.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions took place at dawn on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

Fereydoun Mohammadi, from Kermanshah (Kermashan), and Hesam Mohammadi, from Tehran, were sentenced to death on murder charges. Hossein Biabani, from Harsin, was sentenced on drug-related charges, while Ahmad Yousefi was sentenced on charges of rape.

The executions have not been announced by state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
