Amir Mohammad Faroughi executed in Qorveh after six years in detention

The death sentence of Amir Mohammad Faroughi, a 26-year-old from Qorveh, was carried out in the city’s central prison. He had previously been convicted on charges of premeditated murder.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution took place at dawn on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, in Qorveh Central Prison.

A source familiar with the case reported that Faroughi was arrested six years ago on charges of murder and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

His execution has not been announced by state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
