Iran executes three prisoners in Ghezel Hesar Prison, Karaj

The death sentences of three Kurdish prisoners — Farshad Garavand, Ahmadreza Garavand, and another man identified only as Amir (surname unknown) — were carried out in Ghezel Hesar Prison, Karaj. All three had been sentenced to death on drug-related charges.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, Farshad and Ahmadreza Garavand, both from Kuhdasht, along with Amir, were executed in Ghezel Hesar Prison.
The three men had been arrested in separate cases on drug-related charges and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
Hengaw had previously reported that on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at least 12 prisoners — including six Kurds — were transferred to solitary confinement in Ghezel Hesar Prison in preparation for execution.
These executions have not been acknowledged by Iranian state media, including judiciary-affiliated outlets.
