Hengaw – Friday, September 26, 2025

The number of executions in Ghezel Hesar Prison, Karaj, has risen to five following confirmation that two additional prisoners, Meysam Karami and Jaber Asgari, were executed earlier this week. The identities of three others — Farshad Geravand, Ahmadreza Geravand, and a prisoner identified only as Amir — had already been established.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Karami, a resident of Kermanshah (Kermashan), and Asgari were executed at dawn on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Both had been convicted of murder and sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Hengaw previously reported that on the same day, three other prisoners were executed in the facility: Farshad Geravand and Ahmadreza Geravand, Kurdish residents of Kuhdasht in Lorestan Province, and Amir, whose surname remains unknown. They had been convicted in separate drug-related cases and sentenced to death.

Iranian state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary, have not reported on these executions.
