Mehdi Veysi, expelled student, executed in Khorramabad Central Prison

Iranian authorities have executed Mehdi Veysi, a 29-year-old man from Kuhdasht in Lorestan Province, in Khorramabad Central Prison. He had been convicted of premeditated murder. 

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Veysi, a Kurdish resident of Babagardali village in Tarhan district of Kuhdasht, was executed at dawn on Saturday, September 27, 2025. 

Veysi was formerly a student at Farhangian University but was expelled by the head of security, identified as Hatemvand, on what were described as disciplinary grounds. Following his expulsion, he worked as a truck driver. 

He was arrested several years ago on murder charges and later sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran. 

His execution has not been reported in state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
