Mahmoud Qeytarani executed in Sanandaj Central Prison

Authorities executed Mahmoud Qeytarani, a Kurdish resident of Marivan convicted of murder, in Sanandaj (Sine) Central Prison.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Qeytarani, from Sang Sefid village in Marivan, was executed at dawn on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

Sources reported that security forces arrested him four years earlier for killing his brother during a dispute over farmland, and the judiciary subsequently sentenced him to death.

State media, including outlets close to the judiciary, have not yet reported the execution.
