Hengaw – Wednesday, September 17, 2025

Iranian authorities have executed three Kurdish prisoners from Ilam, Majid Soleimani, Majid Hosseini and Ahmad Haqi, who had been sentenced to death on charges of premeditated murder and drug-related offenses. The executions were carried out at Ilam Central Prison and Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, Majid Hosseini, a resident of Ilam who had been arrested six years ago on drug-related charges and later sentenced to death, was executed at Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.

Separately, on Sunday, September 14, 2025, the death sentences of Ahmad Haqi and Majid Soleimani, both 27 and residents of Ilam, were implemented at Ilam Central Prison.

A source familiar with the cases said the two men executed in Ilam had been arrested in separate proceedings on murder charges and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

State-run media, including judiciary-affiliated outlets, had not reported the executions.

Data from Hengaw Organization for Human Rights’ Statistics and Documentation Center show that since the beginning of September, at least 20 Kurdish prisoners have been executed in various prisons across Iran.
