Hengaw – Thursday, September 18, 2025

The death sentences of seven prisoners — including two Baloch and two Kurdish inmates — were carried out across Iran. Those executed were identified as Nadim Ashrafzadeh, Abdolqader Sargolzaei, Ali Esmaeili, Rahman Sarlak, Mohsen Yeganeh, Saber Koshafar, and Ali-Owst Akbari. They had been convicted in separate cases of “premeditated murder” or “drug-related offenses.”

Information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights confirms that on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, two prisoners — Nadim Ashrafzadeh (approximately 38, from Chabahar) and Abdolqader Sargolzaei (approximately 36, from Zahedan) — were executed in Isfahan Central Prison (Dastgerd). They had each spent eight and ten years in prison, respectively, on drug-related charges before their executions.

That same day, two other inmates — Ali Esmaeili, a Kurdish father of two from Nourabad, and Rahman Sarlak — were executed in Ghezel Hesar Prison, Karaj, on drug-related charges. They had been transferred to solitary confinement on September 14 ahead of their executions.

Also on Wednesday morning, Mohsen Yeganeh, previously convicted on drug-related charges, was executed in Semnan Central Prison.

Separately, on Monday, September 15, Saber Koshafar, a Kurdish prisoner from Kermanshah, was executed in Sanandaj Prison after being sentenced to death on murder charges.

Earlier, on Thursday, August 21, Ali-Owst Akbari, 50, from Shakhdar village in Abgarm district, Buin Zahra County, was executed in Buin Zahra Prison, Qazvin Province. He had been arrested seven years earlier on murder charges related to a land dispute and sentenced to death.

None of these executions have been announced by Iranian state media.
