Hengaw – Wednesday, October 1, 2025

The death sentence of Mohammad Faraji, a Kurdish prisoner from Marivan, was carried out in Sanandaj Central Prison after he was convicted on charges of premeditated murder.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, 30-year-old Faraji, from Lanjabad village in Marivan district, was executed in Sanandaj Central Prison.

Sources reported that he was arrested four years ago on charges of murdering his uncle during a financial dispute and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

Despite repeated appeals by his family and collective efforts by civil activists in Marivan and Sanandaj to halt or postpone the execution, these attempts were unsuccessful, and the sentence was carried out.

The execution of Mohammad Faraji remains unacknowledged by Iranian state media, including judiciary-affiliated outlets.
