Hengaw – Tuesday, October 7, 2025

The death sentence of Arsalan Khani, a Kurdish prisoner convicted on drug-related charges, was carried out in Kermanshah Central Prison (Dizelabad). This brings the total number of prisoners executed in the same facility this week to two.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Khani was executed at dawn on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, in Dizelabad Prison. Sources reported that he had been arrested several years ago on charges related to drug offenses and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

Hengaw had earlier reported the execution of another Kurdish prisoner, Ghasem Sajadi, 27, also from Kermanshah, who had been arrested four years earlier on similar drug-related charges.

The executions of both prisoners have not been announced by Iranian state media or judiciary-affiliated outlets.
