Kurdish prisoner Hamid Babaei executed in Sanandaj Central Prison

The death sentence of Hamid Babaei, a Kurdish prisoner from Sahneh in Kermanshah Province, was carried out in Sanandaj Central Prison. He was convicted of “premeditated murder” by the Iranian judiciary.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution took place at dawn on Monday, October 28, 2025.

Arrested five years ago, Babaei was later sentenced to death on charges of murder, sources familiar with the case told Hengaw.

His execution has not been announced by Iranian state media or outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
